A: HealthTech Connect (formerly "MPX") connects healthcare organizations to their suppliers. Our online platform optimizes, organizes and streamlines the medical parts and services supply chain.

As a fully independent, transparent eCommerce platform, HealthTech Connect links buyers direct to our qualified supplier partners to complement your medical equipment service operation with a valuable business resource that saves time and money on accessing and managing the products and services you need.

Q: What types of supply chain services are available on HealthTech Connect?

A: HealthTech Connect provides solutions for sourcing and procuring Repair Parts and Onsite Equipment Service. We will soon expand our services to include two new features: Depot Repair and Asset Disposal.

For repair parts, we feature thousands of radiology and biomedical parts available from multiple suppliers covering all major device modalities and hundreds of original equipment manufacturers (OEM's).

For onsite service, our service provider partners offer a wide range of expertise – from diagnostic imaging to biomedical devices – and are eager to cost effectively solve your problems.

Q: How does HealthTech Connect work?

A: HealthTech Connect unifies buyers and suppliers of medical equipment repairs parts and services in an integrated supply chain platform that streamlines direct transactions, communications, data management/integration, reporting and much more.

HealthTech Connect achieves this by connecting buyer members with parts inventories and service capabilities from our leading supplier partners, which you can then source across, submit pricing requests and ultimately make purchases. Meanwhile, HealthTech Connect automatically organizes and categorizes transaction activity, sends alerts and integrates many additional features to optimize and customize the business process for buyers and suppliers.


Q: How is HealthTech Connect unique from other online medical equipment sites?

A: HealthTech Connect offers several advantages over other services by fully transferring the manual business process of sourcing/ordering/purchasing into a streamlined, full-featured online platform for managing the parts and services supply chain.

HealthTech Connect is rich with features and functionality to preserve your internal workflow, business requirements and vendor relationships – but adds a new level of ease and simplicity to managing and accessing the products and services you need.

HealthTech Connect is not intended to be a widespread broadcast service, reverse auction site or a parts broker/sourcing company. Rather, HealthTech Connect is a fully independent, neutral and transparent eCommerce platform for managing the medical equipment supply chain. Neither TriMed Media Group, Inc. nor any of its employees or owner, have any personal or financial interest in any company that buys, sells or services medical equipment or provides repair and replacement parts.


Q: Why should I use HealthTech Connect over other medical parts and services aggregation/pricing sites?

A: HealthTech Connect offers several advantages over other services:

  • Cost Savings – HealthTech Connect is a free service to buyer members (no commitment or obligation required) with no broker fees or auction commissions. You benefit from competitive pricing coming direct from your preferred suppliers and service Providers.
  • Convenience – With a quick online request you receive quotes from multiple suppliers and service providers – all conveniently organized, saved and accessible in your HealthTech Connect account. Multiple checks, searches, emails and calls are eliminated. The waiting period for pricing and availability turnaround are reduced and human relay error minimized.
  • Radiology and Biomedical Coverage – HealthTech Connect features parts and services covering the full scale of medical equipment including diagnostic imaging and biomedical devices.
  • Business Intelligence – HealthTech Connect empowers smart business decisions by providing a reports feature that helps you track and understand spending and usage. Plus, you can track costs down to specific devices, which provides visibility into asset performance and overall lifecycle management.
  • Data Management / Integration – HealthTech Connect facilitates integration of your equipment assets or parts inventory to provide convenience and optimize data flow/transfer.

Q: What does HealthTech Connect cost?

A: For buyers, HealthTech Connect is absolutely FREE with no commitment or obligation required! There is no upfront cost to join, no start-up fee to create an account and no ongoing subscription cost. Training is free as well.

For suppliers, there is no upfront cost to join HealthTech Connect, nor a start-up fee to create an account. However, suppliers are subject to a published fee schedule based on aggregate monthly sales. Q: Where is the HealthTech Connect service hosted?

A: HealthTech Connect leverages online cloud technology (powered by Amazon Web Services) to deliver a robust, secure and scalable platform that simplifies the parts and services supply chain process for medical engineering groups and medical parts suppliers and service providers. HealthTech Connect dramatically enhances efficiency and cost savings on accessing and managing parts and services and ultimately contributes to providing better management of medical equipment.


Q: Is there much setup involved to get my HealthTech Connect account started?

A: Not at all. HealthTech Connect is amazingly simple to adopt and implement for your medical engineering department or supplier organization. Our turnkey cloud solution requires minimal resources to get started and no software installation. Plus, go-live is quick as there's limited training required due to its user-friendly design. Q: Can I set up different roles or permissions levels for users on my HealthTech Connect account?

A: Yes. There are specific roles that are assigned to users, each of which have a set level of access to the account. The highest level role is Buyer/Supplier Administrator and then scaling downward to Buyer/Supplier Manager; Buyer/Supplier; Accounting; and Shipping/Receiving.


Q: How do I communicate on HealthTech Connect?

A: HealthTech Connect streamlines communications between buyers-suppliers through its confidential chat feature. The chat feature enables quick and easy communication to get questions answered, details clarified and help build relationships.


Q: Is HealthTech Connect compatible with all Internet browsers?

A: Yes. HealthTech Connect recommends Internet Explorer, Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. If using Internet Explorer, we highly recommend that you upgrade to version 8 or later to improve site performance, speed and your overall experience. Q: Can we access HealthTech Connect without any major content or layout distortions, on any mobile device (i.e. tablets, smartphones and the like)?

A: HealthTech Connect is built with a responsive web design that allows fluid layout across a wide range of devices including desktops, laptops and select tablets and smartphones. We will also be developing dedicated tablet and smart phone apps to optimize the HealthTech Connect user experience on those devices.


Q: Who is behind the HealthTech Connect service?

A: HealthTech Connect is a fully independent, healthcare technology company. Neither HealthTech Connect, nor any of its employees or owner, have any personal or financial interest in any company that buys, sells or services medical equipment or provides repair and replacement parts.


Q: How secure are my transactions over HealthTech Connect?

A: Your transactions are 100 percent secure and private with HealthTech Connect. We maintain stringent security layers and measures to ensure the utmost protection of data that is transacted and transmitted using the HealthTech Connect site. Q: How can I go about getting HealthTech Connect product/development updates?

A: HealthTech Connect provides updates in these ways:

  • By signing up for an Account, you will automatically get notified of major product/feature developments as they are available. However, you will never be spammed by HealthTech Connect as you have the ability to unsubscribe from any announcement, newsletter or promotion update we send.
  • HealthTech Connect also posts important product updates, announcements, release notes, etc. on your HealthTech Connect homescreen and in the HealthTech Connect Community site.

Q: Is HealthTech Connect open to getting development partners on board to enhance the service?

Q: As a buyer, is there a cost for using HealthTech Connect?

A: No cost. HealthTech Connect is absolutely FREE for buyer accounts (no commitment or obligation required).

Buyers enjoy all the advantages of HealthTech Connect – access to multiple suppliers of parts and services, cost savings, convenience, basic asset management, reporting, etc. – without paying any fees. Buyers are encouraged to create an account and add as many users as you like. Q: Once I sign up for my free buyer account and start using HealthTech Connect, am I committed to the service or locked into it? Is there a membership that has to be maintained or a pre-termination penalty?

A: No. For buyer accounts, HealthTech Connect does not require any commitment or obligation whatsoever. There is no membership registration cost to maintain nor a pre-termination penalty. We know you'll love HealthTech Connect for all the convenience, cost savings, productivity and efficiency that it provides to your service operation and look forward to your use of the system.


Q: As a buyer, can HealthTech Connect integrate with my equipment assets/CMMS system to help me manage my asset turnover and repair more easily?

A: Yes. An important advantage of the HealthTech Connect system is the ability to integrate your assets into your HealthTech Connect account for consolidated management of your equipment assets and related parts and services purchasing. For more information about integration options, including import of your equipment assets and/or specific interfaces (API) with your CMMS, please contact our client services team at ClientServices@HealthTechConnect.com.


Q: As a buyer, how do I find suppliers on HealthTech Connect?

A: You can view the HealthTech Connect qualified supplier partners on our website. Each of these companies are official supplier participants in the HealthTech Connect platform. Once your HealthTech Connect buyer account is created, all suppliers are given "Approved" status by default. However, HealthTech Connect gives you full control to customize your "Approved" and "Unapproved" suppliers in your Account Settings (see next question for more).

NOTE: Suppliers must have "Approved" status to appear as a potential Supplier/Service Provider in order requests.


Q: As a buyer, can I control the suppliers I do business with on HealthTech Connect?

A: Yes, this is a key advantage of HealthTech Connect over other services. Not only does HealthTech Connect facilitate transparent, direct purchasing with suppliers – but it also enables you to configure your Account Settings to a preferred group of suppliers. NOTE: Suppliers must have "Approved" status to appear as a potential supplier/service provider in order requests.


Q: How do I ensure my favorite suppliers and service providers also is participating in HealthTech Connect?

A: If you don't see your preferred supplier(s) or service provider(s) on our list of qualified supplier partners, then once your HealthTech Connect buyer account is created you can click on the Invite New Supplier button located inside the New Suppliers pod on your home screen. In addition, you can submit the supplier referral to us by emailing Info@HealthTechConnect.com and we will work on including them soon. Or you may contact the supplier personally to let them know about HealthTech Connect and have them contact us.


Q: What if I need to ask a supplier a question on HealthTech Connect?

A: HealthTech Connect streamlines communications with your suppliers through its confidential chat feature. The chat feature enables quick and easy communication to get questions answered, details clarified and help build relationships with your suppliers.


Q: In my organization, I need approval from a supervisor before making a purchase. Does HealthTech Connect have a way to help me get this approval?

A: Yes. Once a supplier has submitted pricing, you can Print, Email or Download the quote/proposal details. These functions are designed to facilitate the internal approval necessary to make the purchase.


Q: Can I manage purchasing levels of the buyer users on my account?

A: Yes. HealthTech Connect has the capability for buyer accounts to define specific purchasing limits for each user, and also integrates automatic notifications when limits are reached and higher level approval is required.


Q: Who bills me for purchases I make on HealthTech Connect?

A: You receive invoices the same as usual directly from your suppliers. While HealthTech Connect helps facilitate transactions between buyer-supplier, we do not get involved with payment collections or processing of items bought/sold on HealthTech Connect.


Supplier/Service Provider

Q: I am an interested supplier/service provider. How do I get started?

A: Creating your HealthTech Connect supplier account is quick and easy.

From the HealthTech Connect homepage, click the "Register" link at the top – or simply go directly to the account sign up page. Once your account is created, the HealthTech Connect client services team will follow up to collect additional information and materials that are required to participate as a supplier/service provider. For example, you will need to approve the Supplier Agreement which details our fee schedule (see next question).

Q: As a supplier or service provider, is there a cost to use HealthTech Connect?

A: There is no upfront cost to join HealthTech Connect, nor a start-up fee to create an account. However, suppliers are subject to a published fee schedule based on aggregate monthly sales. Suppliers will be invoiced on the first of each month for the preceding monthly sales processed through HealthTech Connect. Terms are Net 30 days. For a copy of the detailed fee schedule, please refer to the Terms of Use Agreement or email a request to ClientServices@HealthTechConnect.com.


Q: As a supplier or service provider, will competing suppliers/service providers view the proposal I submit for a buyer request?

A: No. Only the buyer is able to view your proposal therefore preserving full confidentiality.


Q: As a supplier or service provider, am I able to set discounts and terms for my preferred buyers or buyers with whom I already have a pre-existing relationship?

A: Yes. There are fields and functionalities within your Account Settings that allow a supplier to assign default discount rates and terms as well as customized rates and terms per buyer account. These can all be established during account setup and also can be changed by the designated Account Administrator at any time.

Q: Do we invoice our HealthTech Connect customers directly or is that somehow done by the service?

A: You send invoices the same as usual directly to your customers. While HealthTech Connect helps facilitate transactions between buyer-supplier, we do not get involved with payment collections or processing of items bought/sold on HealthTech Connect.


Q: I have an exclusive arrangement with some customers. Can HealthTech Connect accommodate this relationship?

A: Yes. HealthTech Connect can be configured into an exclusive buyer-supplier environment to reflect your exclusive arrangement. In addition, suppliers benefit from a reduced rate when establishing the exclusive arrangement on HealthTech Connect, which is detailed in the fee schedule in the HealthTech Connect Terms of Use Agreement.
